Jetzt schreibe ich hier schon seit einigen Jahren, wie man was am Citroën XM reparieren kann und habe noch nie zusammengefasst, welche Grundausstattung an Werkzeug man als ambitionierter Hobbyschrauber eigentlich braucht.

Die Basis:

Damit man an einem Wagen in seiner eigenen Einfahrt überhaupt ordentlich schrauben kann, muss dieser zu fasdt allen Arbeiten aufgebockt werden können. Also benötigt man …

einen Rangierwagenheber mit einer guten Hubhöhe, damit man nach dem Aufbocken „bequem“ am Unterboden schrauben kann. Die kleinen Baumarkt Wagenheber sind eher nur fürs Reifenwechseln geeignet. Ich persönlich verwende diesen hier:

Wenn man den XM in Höchststellung auf diese Rampen fährt, selbige ganz hoch pumpt, die o. g. Böcke unterstellt und dann das Fahrwerk wieder absenkt, bekommt man den XM so weit hoch gebockt, dass man sehr viel Platz zum Schrauben hat.

Okay, nun ist der Wagen aufgebockt. Welche grundlegenden Werkzeuge benötigt man?

Mit einem guten Steckschlüsselsatz, kann man schon viel an seinem XM reparieren. Man muss nicht unbedingt den teuersten kaufen, aber auch nicht den günstigsten. Ein gutes Mittelmaß reicht hier aus. Ich persönlich arbeite seit 15 Jahren mit einem Steckschlüsselsatz von BGS.

Und zu guter Letzt noch ein Drehmomentenschlüssel, damit man die wichtigen Muttern und Schraube, wie z. B. die Radbolzen mit dem richtigen Drehmoment wieder fest schraubt.

Mit diesen Werkzeugen kann man schon viel machen: Bremsen, Anlasser, Antriebswellen, Auspuff, etc.

Die besonderen Werkzeuge für den ambitionierten Schrauber:

Wer wie ich eigentlich alles, wirklich alle an seinen Autos selber machen möchte, braucht natürlich noch ein paar weiterführende Werkzeuge.

Fangen wir mit dem Wechseln der Spurstangen an. Hierzu benötigt man ein spezielles Werkzeug, um selbige ausbauen zu können:

Hat man die Spurstangen oder die Spurstangengelenke ausgetauscht, muss man die Spur neu einstellen. Mit dem Gunson Trakrite habe ich sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht:

Für alle Arbeiten an den Hydraulikleitungen empfiehlt sich die Verwendung von Leitungsschlüsseln, da diese besser greifen als normale Maul-Ringschlüssel:

Ggf. benötigt man noch einen Adaptersatz für seine Stecknüsse. Diesen sollte man sich gleich in der starken Ausführung holen, damit man ihn auch mit der langen Ratsche und einem Schlagschrauber verwenden kann. Die Adapter der normalen Version sind mir schon abgerissen:

Ein kleines Schweißgerät mit 230V und 380V Anschluss reicht für die Arbeiten an einem Auto völlig aus. Man muss ja nicht 5 Autos am Tag schweißen:

98% dieser Werkzeuge habe ich mir über die letzten 15 Jahre angeschafft und muss wirklich sagen, dass man mit dem richtigen Werkzeug sich einiges an Frust beim Schrauben ersparen kann.
